A Ghost Report from the Ohio Democrat on March 12, 1887

Spectral Edition

On January 4th, the No. 5 train running through Republic, Ohio, wrecked.

While approaching the site of that accident afterward, the trainmen saw a red light. A woman in white was signaling them to stop! They did so, but nothing — no light, no woman — could be found anywhere.

And this has happened three times.

Each Wednesday, I post an actual ghost report from a U.S. newspaper published between 1865 and 1918. You can also hear me read the articles on The Big Séance and the History Goes Bump podcasts — or listen to previously released recordings here.
